Mission Statement

Friend2Friend's mission is to distribute SUNSHINE BASKETS containing uplifting literature to children and their families facing medical challenges - books that ignite laughter, inspire courage, and unite families.

The first and foremost goal of our 501(c)3 non-profit organization is to encourage children and support their families battling long term illness or extended recovery times due to traumatic injury or accident.

Our Vision

Compassionately delivering Sunshine Baskets to courageous little warriors battling lengthy medical challenges through our partnering Children's Hospitals and our network of over 1800 elementary schools across the country. These Sunshine Baskets are made possible by the generosity of private individuals, small businesses, corporations, and foundations. Our family friendly books will impart joy and courage to hurting kids and their families facing extended stays in Children's Hospitals and related medical facilities.

How do we distribute the Sunshine Baskets to these courageous kids?

We distribute the Sunshine Baskets through two main channels. The first channel is through our four partnering hospitals and their Child Life departments. We supply the hospitals based on their need which differs from hospital to hospital. As the foundation's donor base grows we will add more hospitals (projected two year additions: Dallas, Birmingham, Lousiville, Cincinnati, Knoxville).

The second channel of distribution is through the elementary schools where author Ronda Friend presents her Author Visit program in thirty states. During the author visit program, we learn of students facing tough medical challenges and "adopt" them by presenting them with a Sunshine Basket and staying in touch with them using FaceTime and Skype when possible.
